Construction is finally almost complete at my house, and my hubby, as promised, dedicated a section of the new yard as a new garden for me! With drip irrigation, shade cloth and all – I’m getting back to gardening for REAL this time! We have everything from eggplant to radishes, lettuce, peppers, cucumbers and tomatoes growing. I’m even experimenting with purple potatoes, melons and beets! I’ve already had a harvest of purple leaf lettuce, iceberg lettuce and now the radishes are coming up like crazy! It’s already time to head out this weekend and start replanting for a second crop.

I’m a true novice, but I love gardening for many reasons, the distraction from other not so fun tasks, like work for one! I love the feeling of accomplishment when I see a harvest coming and the best part – knowing that the food I’m producing is organic and tastes amazing!
