
Here’s a trick…the next time you let your lettuce go too long in the refrigerator and it gets wilted, don’t throw it away – stick it in a glass of cold water for a few hours and it should revive itself!
Lettuce is 80-90%, so once it’s harvested it starts to wilt. If it wasn’t wilted in the grocery store – it may well wilt by the time you plan to use it.
Not all of it will be salvageable using this method – but I was able to use more then half the bunch you see here in a salad!
By the way – the best way to store your lettuce after you get it home is to clean it – then store in a ziplock with a damp paper towel!
