But these aren’t ordinary salads, my salads are packed with nutritional ingredients you may or may not expect!
When I make a salad I literally clean out the fridge! My salad yesterday included (among a lot of other things) grapefruit slices, beets, tomatoes and leftover chicken from my chicken wrap dinner, and the salad today was filled with cabbage, blueberries, flaxseed and avocado. When it comes to salad the goal is to make sure you add in the protein. I usually have a spare hard boiled egg around so if I don’t have any meat on hand – I throw in an egg. I always also include nuts and seed in my salads. Other then that there are no rules (aside from keeping it clean!)
For the for the dressing I keep it so simple. Whether I’m home or out to eat (where you can ask for the simple ingredients to put together yourself)…I always go for a honey mustard dressing. I use Dijon mustard, or regular if that’s all that’s on hand, and honey, then blend. When I’m at home I’ll add a splash of white wine.
A simple salad made into a meal! If you make it right it will really fill you up!
