
I know what you are thinking….”hmmmm, now that looks yummy…”
Believe it or not, it really is! I have a clean shake just about every day. The day’s I don’t, I physically feel it, and by the end of the day I’m CRAVING it. Clean shakes are packed with nutrients that go directly into your blood stream. I stick to the same recipe to keep it simple…but you can vary from this as long as you keep all the ingredients fresh and clean!
Here’s what I suggest: about a handful of each ingredient to make 1 serving….half I have at home to take my vitamins and supplements with (fish oil, calcium, cranberry pill, biotin and spirulina). I take the other half with me if I’m on the go!
The ingredients: Apple (gala or granny smiths are good), pineapple, carrots, spinach (or kale), celery, cucumber and 2 teaspoons of wheatgrass. Wheatgrass is packed with vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll, and live enzymes that feed and cleanse the cells of toxins. It’s the perfect juice additive for anyone striving for good health!
Place the ingredients one by one into the juicer. I’ll add a juicier piece (few apple or pineapple slices) and follow up quickly with a more fibrous fruit (a few carrots), this helps push the juice and pulp through with less clogging. Once you’ve gotten all the ingredients through, place the juice in a blender (love my NINJA), and add the wheatgrass. Grab a handful of ice (6-10 pieces) and blend. To make your shake a little creamier (and add even more nutrients), throw in a half of a banana or avocado.
