About a year ago, my Neice shared with me the film called “Hungry for Change,” and it literally changed my life. If you work out regularly and eat healthy, if you are fortunate and don’t have that much to loose but do struggle with those last few pounds or problem areas, or if you have to whiz by the snack isle to keep the chips out of your cart…this film is a MUST SEE. This film is for everyone. I quickly learned that although my habits may have been “healthier” then the average person, I had NO IDEA what was going into my body and what was the culprit of all my frustration, including things I didn’t associate with food such as my sleeping habits, mood swings, skin breakouts, just about every symptom that effects our physical well-being. It’s all about knowing what we are putting into our bodies and eating clean. Limiting sugar and ridding ourselves of toxins. And it’s much easier then it sounds.
My goal now is to blog. Blog about exactly how EASY it is to eat clean. What comes to mind immediately is keep it simple stupid (KISS). You will soon discover that keeping it simple actually helps with your creativity and as you play with your ingredients, because they are all natural – it’s hard to mess up! Ask my husband, I used to be a HORRIBLE COOK! Now, he loves my food!
Are you ready?
Step 1. If you can’t put the ingredient in your meal on your countertop, if you can’t spell the ingredient, if you don’t know what the ingredients are, or if the ingredient has a longer shelf life then you….DO NOT PUT IT INTO YOUR BODY.
Step 2. Start cooking (and ordering when you are out to eat) using only fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, fish and organic or grass fed meats (minimal amounts). Use only turbinado sugar (it’s minimally processed). Eat all the spices you want! Notices I said spices….NOT CONDIMENTS!
There is more to it of course, there are specific things to avoid and lots of new ingredients I will introduce you too. But let’s just get started! I will continue to blog and I will explain my recipies and why I use what I do along the way. This is a learning process, I’m still learning and sometimes I make mistakes. But, for the most part, I have a handle on what’s good – what’s bad, and I can help you along your way to eating clean…simply!
